WYCOMBE TRAVELLED AWAY TO SOUTHAMPTON FOR ONLY THERE SECOND LEAGUE GAME OF THE SEASON.

In terrible conditions Wycombe started brightly and were soon surging forward . A corner from Holly and a great header from Su gave Wycombe an early lead. Charlotte put in a great cross for Su to tap in her second, with Leah assured at the back and Tina holding the midfield, Wycombe were looking good for all three points.

On 20mins Snowy received an injury to her knee with which, brought on Renee, for her first game of the season. Wycombe were soon back into there stride and they were awarded a penalty, which Su converted. Then the 4 goal hero finished off a typical solo effort.

The second half was a different story. Heather was carrying a knee injury which meant we were really only playing with 10 players and in the end she was taken off. This is a big disappointment as she has been outstanding all season. Southampton really had a go and once again Sam was at her very best keeping all the shots out.

Southampton were awared a penalty which they managed to shoot wide. Within two minute they were awarded another penalty which this time they managed to convert. Southampton pressed on and managed to score again with ten minutes to go till the final whistle. Wycombe were able to hold out untill the end with only a couple of shots at the oppponents goal, but were unable to score.

Coach Graham Malcolm was pleased to take the 3 points but concerned with the injuries apparent in some key players!

FINAL SCORE: WWLFC 4 SOUTHAMPTON 2

Managers POM: Su Oakley
