Wycombe continued on there impressive run of late, securing a 2-1 victory at home to Slough. In a game that was clearly a game of 2 halves, Wycombe started the game very well and could of realistically been 4 or 5 - 0 up at half time. Missed chances from Mich Bailey, Su Oakley and Sarah (The Fox) Tyas meant that Sloughtwere always in the game. 1 goal was scored in the first half, a through ball from Tasha Smith was latched on to by Mich Bailey, who drew the goal keeper and slotted the ball home. Half time 1-0.
The 2nd half was a completely different story. Slough enjoyed most of the posession playing some very neat football and Wycombe were unable to get the ball and play their game. The defining moment came when the Slough forward was through and a fantastic save from Chunks kept the score at 1-0. It It was no surprise that with 20 minutes remaining, a long range shot from Slough resulted in an equaliser. Wycombe were still defending and looking to counter attack and on one attack, Tasha Smith made a positive run into the box and was brought down for a penalty. Vicki Smyth stepped up to take the penalty to score her 3rd goal in 3 games all after coming on from the bench. This performance now see Wycombe lying 3rd in the league.
