Wycombe Wanderers Ladies travelled to Milton Keynes for their first double header league match of the season. The Ladies had previously met MK Wanderers in the Cup, running out 7-0 winners and were therefore hoping for another two wins. Wycombe won the first match 2-0 which was by no means a true reflection of the game with the visitors missing a host of chances, most notably within the first 10 minutes. The deadlock was finally broken in the 15th minute when Leah Asante was played in down the right wing and sent in an inch perfect left footed cross for Su Oakley to head home over the stranded keeper. The visitors continued to press and were rewarded in the second half when Mitch Bailey sent in a low driven cross for Emma Leith, in her first start for the Ladies, to slide in at the near post for her first senior goal. It was a good start for the Ladies with a convincing win. The second match started slower than expected with the half ending 1-0 after Mitch Bailey pulled the ball back to Su Oakley in the 18 yard box to slot home shortly before the half time whistle. The second half saw Wycombe scoring 4 goals in 30 minutes. Tasha Smith came off the bench at half-time and opened the scoring with a solo effort which saw her cutting in from the left wing and slotting the ball throw the keepers legs. Her efforts also saw her hitting the cross bar with a magnificent long range strike, and having a goal chalked off by the linesman for offside. Su Oakley scored her best of the day with a glancing header from a Livvie Thompson corner. Katie Hudson was next on the score sheet with an unstoppable strike from a Leah Asante lay-off. Mitch Bailey ended the rout as she slotted past the keeper from a Su Oakley cross. Wycombe were deserved winners of both games. Next week sees them travel to Shanklin in the league.
