Wycombe entertained Southampton on Sunday on the hottest day of the year, and were involved in a game of two halves. Wycombe lacked any real drive in the first half and but for some fine goalkeeping from Katie Hudson, were fortunate to only be one nil down.
Leah Asante had a good chance in the very first minute of the game, but her shot was easily dealt with.
The second half began a lot better for Wycombe, but were caught on the counter attack by Southampton who took a deserved two nil lead.Three substitutions were made. We went to three at the back and kept all our forward players on the pitch. Su Oakley returning from injury burst on to a through ball and smashed the ball in to the top corner. Wycombe now had some momentum. Su again found herself one on one and chipped the ball over the goalkeeper to bring the scores level with minutes to spare.
Wycombe went all out for the win with Su, Hannah, Jodie and Charlie all going close, but Southampton to there credit, held on for a share of the points.
FINAL SCORE: WWLFC 2 SOUTHAMPTON 2

Managers POM: Su Oakley
